In a stunning development, the Hawkeyes might have just found their quarterback of the future!
The Hawkeyes' offense has been humming along with senior quarterback Mark Gronowski under center.
Before joining the Iowa program through the transfer portal, Gronowski had a stellar career for the South Dakota Jackrabbits.
Gronowski tallied 10,330 passing yards and 93 touchdowns, and was named the FCS Heisman winner in 2023 and the runner-up in 2024.
Through 10 weeks this season, Gronowski has tallied 946 with four passing touchdowns, and has added 313 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
While Gronowski has revitalized the Iowa offense this season, he will graduate at the end of the season, leaving a significant void at the quarterback position.
After this season, the Hawkeyes will have redshirt freshman Jeremy Hecklinski, sophomore Hank Brown, and freshman Jimmy Sullivan still on the roster.
On Saturday, the Hawkeyes received some great news on the recruiting trail after a four-star quarterback committed to the program following a visit to Iowa City a few weeks ago.

Four-star quarterback Tradon Bessinger committed to the Hawkeyes after re-opening his recruitment a few weeks ago.
Bessinger was initially committed to Boise State, but after making a visit to Iowa City, he re-opened his recruitment.
247Sports has ranked Bessinger as the No. 24 quarterback prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, and he gives the Hawkeye program an immediate boost at the position.
Bessinger is one of the top quarterback prospects who has committed to the program, and he will come in and immediately compete for the starting job next season.
