While the Hawkeyes offensive rankings do not jump off the page, the offensive line continues paving the way for success.

Through the first six games of the season, the Iowa offense ranks No. 43 in rushing offense (184 yards per game), No. 53 in scoring offense (30.7 points per game), and No. 113 in total offense (316 yards per game).

Iowa's passing offense has struggled, ranking No. 128 in passing offense (114.3 yards per game), due to the slow start by starting quarterback Mark Gronowski.

Gronowski and the offense have been clicking in recent games, but the slow start has knocked down their ratings to this point in the season.

The most consistent part of the Iowa offense has been the offensive line, as it continues to create holes for the Iowa rushing attack.

The running back room has been a revolving door to begin the season, but as the running backs continue to get healthy, the offensive line continues to open up holes.

As the offensive line continues to dominate, the unit has been named a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line unit in college football.

A big part of the success of the offensive line has been showcased in the running game, but it has also been keeping Gronowski, Hank Brown, and Jeremy Hecklinski on their feet.

Iowa leads the nation in the fewest quarterback pressures with only 19 allowed, four fewer than Ohio State.

During his media availability ahead of a pivotal game against Penn State this weekend, Mark Gronowski praised the offensive line, stating they give him plenty of time to throw and open up holes when he wants to run.

The Hawkeyes will look to continue their success this weekend in a Big Ten matchup against Penn State at Kinnick Stadium.
