Ben McCollum and Iowa men's basketball have been actively recruiting talented players from the transfer portal, but nothing has materialized through the first six days.

The program's transfer portal recruitment strategy has heavily focused on signing a guard to replace star Bennett Stirtz as he heads to the NBA Draft, but they are hosting an intriguing prospect this weekend who fills another need.

Iowa has been actively pursuing a talented transfer center who fills a big need for the program (literally and figuratively), and he is reportedly on campus this weekend for a visit.

Iowa is reportedly hosting Saint Mary's transfer center Andrew McKeever

We have been manifesting the Andrew McKeever-to-Iowa story since he first announced he was entering the transfer portal, and that might come to fruition with the latest report that he is in Iowa City for a visit.

247Sports' Travis Branham reports that McKeever is on campus for an official visit, signaling that Iowa is ramping up its pursuit of the talented transfer big man.

McKeever, a seven-foot-three center from Saint Mary's, would be a massive upgrade for the Iowa program, giving them an elite rebounder and shot blocker in the interior.

He averaged 8.2 points and 9.2 rebounds for the Gaels last season, and his 9.2 rebounds per game led the WCC.

McKeever can give Iowa not solid rim protection and rebounding, but he also excels at the pick-and-roll, something Iowa ran frequently last season.

McKeever has been high on Iowa's priority list as well as ours, and reeling him in would be a massive win for the program and pushes the needle forward for next season.
