Iowa Football already reeled in one rising quarterback prospect, why not two?
Earlier this week, the Hawkeyes snagged 2027 dual-threat quarterback prospect Brayden Santibanez from SEC country and are looking to add even more talent to a crowded quarterback room.
You can never have too many talented quarterbacks on the roster, and with Jeremy Hecklinski (sophomore), Hank Brown (junior), Jimmy Sullivan (redshirt freshman), Ryan Fitzgerald (redshirt freshman), and Tradon Bessinger (freshman), the quarterback room continues to grow.
Even with five quarterbacks on the roster and Santibanez committed in 2027, one more talented prospect doesn't hurt.
Oscar Sloan's elite arm talent quickly enticed the Hawkeyes to offer him
With only one quarterback able to start and another to back him up, there is no guarantee Iowa will hold onto five quarterbacks.
Especially with expanded NIL possibilities and unlimited transfer possibilities, having multiple versatile options at the most important position on the field isn't a bad thing.
Especially when the program has its eye on a rising quarterback prospect who has already generated a ton of interest from Big Ten programs.
After a great throwing session and conversation with @CoachTimLester I’m thankful to receive an offer to the University of Iowa!!! #gohawks @CoachVandeMerkt @TylerBarnesIOWA @Spauldingiowa @HazellKyle @CoachK_Bell @siderjoe @CGTrojanFootbal pic.twitter.com/LCGIm7KtuP

Oscar Sloan must have been extremely impressive during a recent throwing session he had with the Hawkeyes, because not long after, he received an offer.
Sloan has a big arm and showcased it as the starting quarterback for the Center Grove High School varsity squad last season.
He has a unique combination of power and touch, especially on deep throws, and he can fit the ball into extremely tight windows.
Sloan did not show much dual-threat ability on tape, but his arm has a lot of Big Ten programs after him early in his high school career.
He already has offers on the table from Maryland, Minnesota, Purdue, and Wisconsin, with Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, and Ohio State also showing interest.
247Sports currently ranks Sloan as a three-star prospect, Indiana's No. 6 overall prospect, and the No. 35 quarterback prospect in the 2028 recruiting class.
