It's never too early to think about the future, especially on the recruiting trail.
Iowa Football wrapped up early signing day by signing 22 talented prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, also adding in-state prospect Ethan Headings after he decommitted from North Dakota.
Included in those 22 prospects were seven four-star recruits, bumping Iowa's 2026 class ranking to No. 24 overall and No. 7 in the Big Ten.
The Hawkeyes' 2026 class is shaping up to be the highest-ranked class the program has had since 2021, and why stop there?
After getting a massive haul during early signing day, Iowa got to work on the 2027 class, offering a talented running back prospect.

The Hawkeyes offered SaRod Baker, a running back prospect from DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas.
Bake has shown flashes of brilliance as a high school player, including a dominating junior season.
Last weekend, Baker rushed for a massive 384 yards and a school-record seven touchdowns during DeSoto's win over Willis in the Class 6A Division II quarterfinals of the Texas high school state playoffs.
According to Sports Illustrated, Baker has now compiled 1,960 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns this season, with at least one more game left.
Rankings are sparse for the 2027 recruiting class, but 247Sports has ranked Baker as Texas's No. 102 overall player and the No. 71 running back in the 2027 recruiting class.
247Sports' composite ranking also ranks him as the No. 795 overall player in the class.
Baker has the potential to be an impact player for the Hawkeyes in the 2027 recruiting class, and the future looks bright for the talented running back.
