As we get closer to the college basketball season, Iowa Women's Basketball remains busy on the recruiting trail, and navigating the new rules and limitations following the House v. NCAA Settlement approval.
Over the past several weeks, the Hawkeyes have offered talented prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, including Kaleena Smith andย Ivanna Wilson Manyacka, the No.1 and No. 2 prospects, andย Madi Mignery, the No. 24 overall prospect.
The Hawkeyes are recruiting top talent while navigating the new rules that were implemented following the House v. NCAA Settlement approval.
The Settlement allows schools to pay athletes directly through a revenue-sharing process that has been capped at $20.5 million for the 2025-2026 season. In response to the settlement, Iowa Women's Basketball created a "Flight Funds" program to create way to accumulate more outside funds.
A piece of those funds can be used to recruit top future talent.
While the landscape of college athletics is changing, what is not changing for Iowa Women's Basketball is senior forward Hannah Stuelke.
Stuelke has been a consistent contributor for the Hawkeyes since arriving on campus from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
During the 2024-2025 season, Stuelke averaged 12.7 points, 7.8 rebounds (career-high), and 2.2 assists per game (career-high) and helped guide Iowa to its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.
After consistently for the Hawkeyes, Stuelke was invited to participate in the USA Women's Basketball Team Trials for the AmeriCup.

Stuelke is one of 21 players selected by the USA Women's Junior National Team Committee. The trials begin June 17 at the USA Olympics training facility in Colorado Springs.
Stuelke is also one of seven players making the Team USA debuts.
The team will be coached by Kara Lawson (Duke), alongside assistant coaches DeLisha Milton-Jones (Old Dominion) and Jennie Baranczyk (Oklahoma). Jim Flanery (Creighton) and Robyn Fralick will serve as on-court coaches.
Following the team trials, Team USA heads to Santiago, Chile, for the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup that takes place from June 28 to July 6.
