Iowa Women's Basketball remains active on the recruiting trail as the college athletics landscape changes.

Judge Claudia Wilken approved the House v. NCAA Settlement, allowing schools to pay athletes directly from a revenue-sharing pool of $20.5 million.

In response to the settlement, the Iowa Athletics Department announced four Iowa programs (Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, and Men's Wrestling) launched "Flight Funds" programs to strengthen their finances.

The "Flight Funds" programs are designed as a "charitable avenue" for donors to invest in revenue-sharing for athletes. The "Flight Funds" programs can be used to attract and retain top-talent nationwide, including future prospects.

Over the past few weeks, Iowa Women's Basketball has made multiple offers to top prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.

Madi Mignery, guard (Sarasota, Florida)

Madi Mignery, a six-foot forward prospect from Sarasota, Florida, received an offer from the Hawkeyes following a meeting with Head Coach Jan Jensen. Mignery is a highly-regarded prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

247 ranked Mignery as a four-star prospect, the No. 1 prospect in Florida, and the No. 24 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Mignery had an exceptional sophomore season for Cardinal Mooney High School. According to MaxPreps, she averaged 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in 28 games.

Mignery captained her team to a 24-9 record and a Class 3A Florida State Championship.

Kaleena Smith, point guard (Ontario, California)

After making an offer to top 2027 prospect Madi Mignery, the Hawkeyes made an offer to Kaleena Smith, the top prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

ESPN and 247 Sports ranked Smith as the class's No. 1 overall prospect, and 247 has ranked her as a five-star recruit and the No. 1 California prospect.

Smith has averaged a ridiculous stat line during her two seasons for Ontario Christian High School in Ontario, California. In two seasons, the five-foot-six point guard averaged 29.1 points, 7.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.2 steals per game in 65 games.

Smith is the top recruit in the 2027 class for a reason, and Iowa will compete with the top programs in the country to get her to Iowa City.
