Iowa Men's Basketball has had a jam-packed few weeks. They began on-court practices and workouts, picked their new jersey numbers, and took a little time to build team chemistry.

Some Iowa players and Head Coach Ben McCollum took swings at PinSeekers in Tiffin, Iowa, to unwind and gel as a team off the court.

Amidst the Hawkeyes' efforts to grow as a team on and off the court, a judge approved the House v. NCAA settlement, which allows schools to pay athletes directly.

In preparation for revenue-sharing programs that will begin paying athletes on July 1, Iowa Men's Basketball created the "Flight Funds" program to boost its external revenue. The revenue will be used to recruit and retain top talent for the program.

After taking over the men's basketball program, McCollum and his staff have prioritized recruiting top talent. One of the talented players McCollum recruited, forward Alvaro Folgueiras, was invited to play for his native country this summer.

Folgueiras will join the Spanish Under-20 National Team for the upcoming FIBA EuroBasketball Championships, which takes place from July 12 to 20 in Heraklion, Greece.

The Spanish National Team is in Group A, which includes Finland, Israel, and Poland.

After the FIBA tournament, Folgueiras will play in international friendlies against Portugal on August 5 and the Czech Republic on August 7.

Folgueiras joined Iowa Men's Basketball after playing for Robert Morris for three seasons. He averaged 14.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists and was named the Horizon League Player of the Year for the Colonials last season.
