Iowa is attempting to recruit more athletes for the 2027 recruiting class and beyond in a recent push to fill some future roster gaps.

The Hawkeyes' 2026 recruiting class currently has 15 players signed (five four-star recruits, 10 three-star recruits), with the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked Iowa prospects joining the squad next season.

Iowa was also able to flip former Boise State commit and four-star quarterback prospect Tradon Bessinger to round out the class to this point.

The 2027 class does not have any commitments to this point, with all of the top eight ranked state of Iowa prospects still on the board.

Iowa tried to change that over the weekend by offering in-state, multi-sport athlete, Braylon Bingham.

Pleasantville, Iowa, native Braylon Bingham announced he received an offer from the Iowa program after a successful conversation with assistant head coach Seth Wallace.

Wallace was active in recruitment over the weekend, offering multiple future prospects, including 2028 prospect Camden Noe and now Bingham.

Bingham was in attendance for the Iowa-Oregon game last weekend and received an offer from the program the following day.

Bingham is a multi-sport athlete at Pleasantville High School and has already received offers to play Division 1 baseball at multiple programs, as well as football.

He currently holds football offers from Iowa and Iowa State, with Northern Iowa, South Dakota, and South Dakota State also showing interest.

While rankings for the 2027 class are still being calculated, Rivals Industry Ranking has ranked Bingham as a three-star prospect, Iowa's No. 7 overall prospect, the No. 40 overall athlete prospect, and the No. 691 overall player in the 2027 class.

According to 247Sports' Eliot Clough, after Bingham received an offer from the Hawkeyes, he stated he would "feel right at home" in Iowa City.
