To say Kirk Ferentz and his staff have been elite at developing players might be one of the biggest understatements you will hear all year.
The 2026 NFL Draft is just around the corner, with at least eight former Hawkeyes hoping to hear their names called on draft night, and it could easily be more.
Star offensive lineman Gennings Dunker is projected to be the first Hawkeye selected, followed by edge rusher Max Llewellyn and center Logan Jones.
Where the former Hawkeyes will actually go remains a mystery, but one thing that isn't a mystery: the Iowa program is elite at talent development.
Kirk Ferentz continues to prove why he's one of the best talent developers
The Iowa program does not consistently reel in multiple five-star recruits, but it remains competitive every season.
That is a credit to Ferentz and the rest of the staff, who have become extremely adept at finding high-character players who fit the system and developing them into legit NFL prospects.
Proven Path.

If you're a prospect with future NFL dreams, you want to strongly consider playing for Ferentz and the Iowa program.
Former Hawkeye star Cooper DeJean said it best: Iowa is "run like an NFL organization," and the numbers don't lie.
Under Ferentz, before the 2026 NFL Draft, the program has had 94 draft picks, including 13 first-rounders, with over 230 players making it to the NFL.
There is a reason players and people around the program speak so highly of Ferentz, and that isn't going to change anytime soon.
As long as Ferentz is at the helm of the program, we will continue to see Hawkeyes get drafted or head to the NFL.
