What a year it's been for former Hawkeye star Lucy Olsen.

Olsen was Iowa's best player during the 2024-2025 season after the challenging task of replacing Caitlin Clark.

During her one and only season in Iowa City, Olsen led Iowa in points (17.9) and assists (5.1) per game, and was drafted No. 23 overall by the Washington Mystics.

Olsen played sparingly during her rookie season with the Mystics, but when she did play, she gave them a boost off the bench.

After her rookie season in the WNBA, Olsen moved halfway around the world to Australia and competed with the Townsville Fire in the WNBL during the WNBA offseason. Olsen carved out a solid role as the first person off the bench and finished her rookie season with some hardware.

Olsen helped guide the Fire to a No. 1 overall seed in the WNBL playoffs, and they capped off a stellar season with a championship title in her first season with the club.

Olsen was named the WNBL Sixth Woman of the Year before the start of the playoffs, and she lived up to that in the playoffs.

She finished the 2025-2026 WNBL season averaging 8.4 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game, and came up clutch in the championship game against the Perth Lynx.

In the overtime thriller, Olsen scored 15 points and got a steal in the waning seconds to seal the 108-105 victory for Townsville.

For the Fire, it is their fifth WNBL title, the first since 2023, and Lucy Olsen was a big part of the success this season.
