Ahead of the 2025-2026 men's college basketball season, Iowa Men's Basketball Head Coach Ben McCollum and his staff have rebuilt the roster after 13 players left and three prospects decommitted from the program.

In two months, McCollum added eight players from the transfer portal, including six from the Drake Bulldogs. McCollum also added three players from the 2025 recruiting class, including his oldest son, Peyton.

Three of Iowa's additions are ranked in the top 100 of a recent transfers ranking list, including 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year Bennett Stirtz (No. 2 overall) and Alvaro Folgueiras (No. 54)

Sharpshooting guard Brendan Hausen is the third Hawkeye on the list. In ESPN's men's college basketball transfer rankings for the 2025-2026 season, they ranked Hausen as the No. 89 overall transfer in this year's class.

ESPN ranked Hausen in the top 100 because of his fit with the Iowa program. Hausen's addition gives Ben McCollum a high-volume shooter who can play on and off the ball. Hausen's shooting ability fits perfectly into McCollum's system.

Hausen has never shot below 38 percent from beyond the three-point line, and of his 523 total field goal attempts, 455 have come from three-point range.

As a starter for the Kansas State Wildcats last season, Hausen averaged 10.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 27.6 minutes per game. He shot 39 percent from the field and 38 percent from three point range.

Hausen will slot into the off-guard position, where he can spot up and shoot three-point shots at a high volume. He will also be a solid floor spacer for point guard Bennett Stirtz.
