Bennett Stirtz's magical senior season continues as he has guided the Hawkeyes to their first 20-win season since 2021-2022.
The star guard has been a steadying presence on both ends of the court, and he is at the top of everyone's gameplan.
After beginning his career with Ben McCollum at Northwest Missouri State, he has moved from Division II to mid-major to Division I, and has not skipped a beat.
This season, Stirtz is averaging a team-leading 20.2 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, and has now been given the recognition we all knew he would when he first walked on campus.
Stirtz earnd First-Team and Second-Team All-Big Ten selections
After earning his place at the top of every opponent's gameplan, there is no explanation why he wasn't a unanimous All-Big Ten First-Team selection by the coaches and media.
However, Stirtz is still being recognized as one of the Big Ten's best players.

He was selected to both the All-Big Ten First-Team (media) and All-Big Ten Second-Team (coaches), with the coaches really needing to explain why he isn't on the first team.
Stirtz is fourth in the Big Ten in points per game, including a six-game stretch from January 17 to February 11 when he averaged over 20 points per game.
That also includes dropping 30-plus points in three of four games against Oregon, Northwestern, and Maryland.
Ever since that miraculous stretch for Stirtz at the beginning of February, the Hawkeyes have struggled, including losing four of the final five games of the regular season.
Regardless of what the coaches think, Stirtz is an All-Big Ten performer and has taken his game to the next level as the level of competition has gotten much tougher for him this season in the Big Ten.
