What a gritty performance by the Hawkeyes on the road in Bloomington!

Nothing went right for the Hawkeyes in the first half on the offensive end, going 0-8 on three-point attempts and shooting 25 percent from the field.

Iowa could only muster 19 points, and unranked Indiana was running them out of the gym with a 35-19 first-half lead.

Iowa Head Coach Jan Jensen must have given a heck of a halftime speech, because the squad came out hot to start the second half and ramped up the defensive effort.

The Hawkeyes held the Hoosiers to a meager four points in the third quarter and scored 19 to take a 39-38 lead.

Iowa only allowed 18 points in the entire second half, outscoring the Hoosiers 37-18 in the third and fourth quarters to sneak out of Bloomington with a 56-53 win.

Ava Heiden and Chit-Chat Wright each added 13 points to lead the Hawkeyes in scoring, with Hannah Stuelke adding a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Hawkeyes responded big time in the second half and Heiden pointed to one specific reason why they were able to stay the course, and get the win.

During her postgame media availability (posted by "The Hawkeye Report"), Heiden said the squad has "great team chemistry," which helped them come back.

With their great team chemistry, Heiden believes they band together in challenging moments, and that's how they overcome obstacles.

What Iowa lacks in offensive prowess, they make up in heart

The Hawkeyes have backed themselves into a corner multiple times this season, but have found ways out of it.

Their resilience is a testament to the team chemistry and everyone buying into their roles and what the coaching staff is preaching.

The offense continues to be a struggle at times for the squad, but they have made up for it with gritty play on the defensive end and sticking to the game plan.

The offense has time to come along, so it is great to see everyone has bought in and can rely on each other to do the jobs they are supposed to do.
