The weather did its best to keep people away from a Saturday afternoon game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena (CHA).
Sections of Interstate-80 were closed, temperatures did not get out of the single digits, and snow was blowing around on Saturday as the No. 11 Iowa Hawkeyes welcomed Lindenwood to CHA in Iowa City.
The Hawkeyes were coming off a disappointing loss to Iowa State in a tight contest in Ames.
In a No. 10 versus No. 11, the Hawkeyes could not overcome a big night from Cyclones' star Audi Crooks.
The Hawkeyes held their own in the Cy-Hawk rivalry matchup, but everyone was left wanting more after the close loss.
Jan Jensen and her squad gave us that and more with a dominating performance against Lindenwood.
Lindenwood University, the pride of St. Charles, Missouri, was outclassed in every facet of the game on Saturday afternoon.
While there were multiple discrepancies between the box scores, there wasn't any discrepancy in how dominating Iowa was.
Iowa ultimately won the game 102-68, and it was the third time this season that the Hawkeyes put up 100-plus points.
Hannah Stuelke had her best game of the season, putting up a season-high 31 points and six rebounds in the victory. Ava Heiden added 14 points, while freshman Layla Hays added 11 points and five rebounds off the bench.
Hannah Stuelke proved she is still a force to be reckoned with
Stuelke had a breakout sophomore season, averaging 14.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, as the Hawkeyes made their way to the National Championship game.
In the two seasons since then, her numbers have regressed, and she has not taken the leap that most people thought she would.
She has always been a solid contributor, but has been constantly overshadowed by other players.
Stuelke got off to a bit of a slow start this season, taking a back seat while Ava Heiden was off to a torrid start.
During Saturday's victory, Stuelke proved that she can still be a force for the Hawkeyes down low and had her best game of the young season.
She showed flashes of old Hannah Stuelke, who was a dominating finisher down low, and reminded Hawkeye fans of what she is capable of.
Hopefully, for fans and the program, this was not a flash in the pan for Stuelke, and she can repeat this effort nightly.
