What a magical season it has been for senior Kaden Wetjen.

The speedster from Williamsburg, Iowa, ran into the Iowa program record books with his accomplishments on special teams this season.

After compiling 965 total return yards (538 punt, 427 kick) and four total touchdowns on special teams, Wetjen was named a consensus All-American, alongside teammate Logan Jones.

After Wetjen notched his fourth return touchdown, he passed former Iowa legend Tim Dwight for the most career return touchdowns in Iowa program history with six.

Wetjen also earned a First-Team All-Big Ten selection as a return specialist and is a shoo-in to win the Jet Award for the second consecutive season.

After hopefully aiding the Hawkeyes in their game against Vanderbilt, Wetjen will have one final chance to show off his ability at one the nation's premier senior showcases.

Wetjen has accepted an invitation to the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl in Frisco, Texas, on January 27, 2026.

The East-West Shrine Bowl gives the top players in college football a chance to showcase their abilities in front of NFL coaches, scouts, and executives from all 32 franchises.

The game has occurred annually since 1925 and is one of the longest-running college football showcase games.

It also gives fans a chance to see potential NFL stars before they make it to the next level.

All the proceeds go to Shriners Children's foundations, and the game has helped raise money for more than two million kids.

Wetjen will join teammate Max Llewellyn at the game, and he will get to showcase his speed and agility one more time.

Hopefully, the opposing team will kick or punt to him because we all know what can happen when Wetjen gets the ball in space.
