Iowa continues searching for answers after the roster has dwindled to only five players.

The transfer portal window for women's college basketball opened up on April 6 at midnight, and the Hawkeyes have 10 spots to fill before next season. A roster can have up to 15 players, but Iowa's roster currently has only five.

After prospect McKenna Woliczko joins the program, Iowa will have six players and holes to fill at nearly every position.

Finding the right players is never easy, but when someone hits the market who is not only talented but has Iowa ties, you have to jump on the opportunity.

Aaliyah Crump should be at the top of Jan Jensen's priority list

Iowa has already lost one of its talented players from the 2025 class, as Addie Deal announced she was entering the transfer portal.

What better way to replace her than to bring in a player from the same class who was a member of the All Iowa Attack AAU program?

Texas Longhorns' Aaliyah Crump announced she is entering the transfer portal after one season with the program, and she would be a great fit for Iowa for multiple reasons.

Crump was one of the top Minnesota prospects (ranked No. 2 by 247Sports) before committing to Texas, and now Iowa has a chance to bring in the young potential star.

The scouting report on Crump is that she is an elite scorer beyond the arc and on the drive to the basket, rarely taking bad shots. She has the size and skill to be a proficient rebounder, and can also be a playmaker at her size.

She was a star player for the All Iowa Attack before completing her high school career at Monte Verde Academy, and she would easily be one of Iowa's top players next season.

With Woliczko already coming in, the Hawkeyes would be stacked at the forward and center positions and could have one of the better defensive teams in the Big Ten.

Crump will command a high price, but it's something Iowa must be willing to pay to get back to championship-level play.
