The WNBA continues to give Caitlin Clark bulletin board material with its latest flub

You would think the WNBA would've learned its lesson by now

If there is a league that has mishandled one of its premier superstars in the worst way, it's the WNBA with Caitlin Clark.

From Commissioner Cathy Engelbert saying Clark was "lucky" to receive all her endorsement money thanks to the platform the league gave her, the refs basically allowing players to destroy her on every drive to the basket, we still don't know why the league seemingly despises her.

The former Hawkeye and current Indiana Fever superstar is finally back on the court, but that hasn't stopped the league from disrespecting her.

Clark was somehow not the favorite to start a new franchise with

A recently released survey of WNBA general managers contained a unique question about who they would pick to start a franchise with.

Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers was the overwhelming favorite, earning 33 percent of the vote, while Clark and four-time WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson each earned 20 percent of the vote.

So not only did the WNBA GMs disrespect one superstar but two.

This isn't saying that Bueckers isn't a great player, but there is no way she should be the overwhelming favorite over Clark, who is a two-time WNBA All-Star, a 2024 First-Team All-WNBA selection, and the 2024 Rookie of the Year.

Even if the decision was based solely on what happened recently, Wilson should have easily won the vote after earning the 2025 WNBA MVP and Finals MVP as she guided the Las Vegas Aces to another championship.

The GM survey often causes numerous debates among players and fans, but the only real thing that matters is that Clark is healthy and back on the court, and we all know who the clear choice to start a franchise should have been.
