The Iowa versus Wisconsin football matchup is one of the most historic and enduring rivalries in college football.

In the center of the Midwest, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Wisconsin Badgers have been facing each other on the gridiron since 1894.

The game is one of the longest-played rivalries in all of college football, but since 2004, the two teams have played for the coveted Heartland Trophy.

The Heartland Trophy embodies the rivalry, featuring a 72-pound brass bull, and is presented to the winner following the annual rivalry game each year.

The Badgers hold a slim 49-47-2 record after Iowa won 17 straight games in the rivalry between 1977 and 1996, including four of the last five matchups.

Last season, the Hawkeyes crushed the Badgers 42-10 as running back Kaleb Johnson torched Wisconsin on the ground with 134 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

The rivalry game has also been voted as one of the top rivalries in college football due to the trophy and the rivalry's longevity.

Before Iowa's bye week this upcoming weekend, we now know when the annual rivalry game will take place.

Kickoff from Madison, Wisconsin, has been set for 6:00 p.m. Central Time as the Hawkeyes travel to Wisconsin for game No. 99 in the storied rivalry.

The Iowa Hawkeyes (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) are looking for a reset after dropping two of their first five games.

The Wisconsin Badgers (2-2, 0-1 Big Ten) have had a tough start to their season, and will face No. 20 Michigan this weekend before hosting the Hawkeyes on October 11.
