The USA Women's Basketball team has shown why they are the team to beat in the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup.

In their first tournament game on June 28, the USA took on the host nation, Chile. Chile kept the game close for most of the first quarter, but Team USA found its footing late in the quarter.

Team USA used a massive 18-0 at the end of the first quarter until close to five minutes in the second quarter to command a 43-26 halftime lead.

The second half was much of the same for Team USA as they dominated Chile 108-47 to win their first game of the tournament.

Iowa Forward Hannah Stuelke had seven points, two rebounds, and two steals in the victory

Game two on June 30 followed a similar script. Colombia kept the game close until late in the first quarter. Team USA used a 13-0 run, aided by two clutch baskets by Hannah Stuelke, to take a 25-10 lead into the second quarter.

Team USA never looked back and beat Colombia 80-43 in their second game of pool play. Stuelke finished the game with five points and five rebounds.

Game three against Puerto Rico on June 30 stayed close until halftime, but Team USA turned it on in the second half to stay a perfect 3-0 in group play.

Team USA was riding high after two consecutive dominating performances against Chile and Colombia, and were caught off-guard by a scrappy Puerto Rico team.

Team USA held a slim one-point lead (35-34) at halftime and used a third-quarter run to seal the victory.

Team USA outscored Puerto Rico 17-3 in the final six minutes of the third quarter to take a 52-37 lead.

Puerto Rico made a push in the fourth quarter, trimming the deficit to 13 (70-57), but the USA responded and slammed the door shut for good.

The USA beat Puerto Rico 80-62 to stay a perfect 3-0 in group play.

Gianna Kneepkens led Team USA in scoring with 14, and Olivia Miles notched a near-triple-double with nine points, seven rebounds, and eight assists.
