Former Hawkeye Sebastian Castro is on the move!
After a stellar career at Iowa, Castro went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent.
During his career with the Hawkeyes, Castro tallied 163 tackles, including 14 for loss and two sacks, and also added five forced fumbles, four interceptions, and 18 passes defended.
Castro turned some heads this preseason with his play, notching 10 tackles in three games, but was ultimately cut by the Steelers during the 53-man roster cutdowns in August.
Castro was resigned to the Steelers' practice squad, and was able to be signed by any other team in the league.
This week, Castro will get his chance to play with a different organization as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him off the practice squad.

The Buccaneers have been decimated by injuries in the defensive side of the football this year, including multiple players during their 31-25 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend.
After safety Rashad Wisdom was injured during the game against the Eagles, it was announced he is heading to injured reserve (IR), prompting the Buccaneers to sign Castro.
Tampa Bay now has nine players on injured reserve with six being added in the last two weeks.
Castro joins fellow former Hawkeyes Tristan Wirfs, Anthony Nelson, Kaevon Merriweather, and Nick Jackson on the Tampa Bay roster, and will wear No. 24 with his new team.
Castro is currently listed as the No. 3 safety on the Buccaneers depth chart behind Antoine Winfield Jr. and Christian Izien.
