Former Iowa Hawkeyes defensive back Sebastian Castro is trying to accomplish his dream of becoming an NFL player. He was in the safety group during the second day of the 2025 NFL Combine and looked to prove his worth in the on-field drills and measurements.
Before Castro ran the 40-yard dash, Charles Davis joined the NFL Network broadcast and relayed a great quip Castro made while talking with him. He noted that Castro stated, "I did not dream of going to the NFL Combine. I dreamed of going to the league."
Castro unintentionally noted this to Charles Davis in a funny pre-workout moment, but it shows how important getting to the NFL is for him.
He is coming off a good performance in the 2025 Senior Bowl, and a good season at the University of Iowa, where he was a Third-Team All-Big 10 performer. He put had 57 tackles and one interception in his senior season.
Castro must overcome his lack of quickness and range to be an every-down player at the next level. His sense of urgency and drive are top-notch, and his versatility to play both safety and nickel will serve him well in his NFL journey.
