Iowa running back Kamari Moulton is no stranger to the spotlight after starting the season opener for the Hawkeyes last season and in the 2024 TransPerfect Music City Bowl.
As the primary backup for Kaleb Johnson last season, Moulton tallied 473 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and three touchdowns.
Moulton was poised to lead an inexperienced backfield this season, but was dealing with a soft tissue injury during the beginning of fall camp.
Now fully healthy, Moulton is ready to lead the Iowa backfield this season, but recognizes it could be a running back by committee system due to the versatility of the group.
During media availability this week, Moulton discussed his health and expectations for next season.
During a portion of his availability posted by "The Hawkeye Report," Moulton discussed his health and how comfortable the running back group is with the offense after last season.
Moulton stated that he was dealing with an injury at the beginning of fall camp, but was able to return and get reps near the end.
He noted it was a mental challenge for him because he wanted to be out there and help his teammates become the best versions of themselves.
Moulton also stated that he expected to be on the first team, but knows the running back group is versatile and can do multiple different things.
The group is more confident in their abilities and in the offensive scheme in year two under offensive coordinator Tim Lester.
Moulton is confident in his abilities and is ready to do what he is capable of this season.
