Today is the day ladies and gentlemen. The day all Iowa fans, Caitlin Clark fans, women's basketball fans, and basketball fans in general have been waiting for. Today Caitlin Clark will make her official debut in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever and this might be one of the most anticipated debuts in sports.

The Caitlin Clark effect will most certainly happen today with her debut against the Connecticut Sun in what will be the rookie's first-ever game in the pros. Little girls will show up with their signs chanting Clark's name, Fever fans might even outnumber Sun fans in Connecticut, and anytime Clark touches the ball, fans of either team will sit in wonder of what she will do.

The first overall pick played in both preseason games for the Fever where he scored a modest 21 points against the Dallas Wings and 12 points against the Atlanta Dream. With Clark making the final roster, which everyone expected, she will lace them up for the first time as a pro and probably even be a starter in her debut.

So with Clark hitting the hardwood as an official pro today for the first time ever, what are some of the best things that can and most likely will happen?

Fans can finally wear their Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark jersey

Everyone knew Clark was going No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft, it was only a matter of time until it was official. Once Clark was officially drafted, she hit yet another record of having the highest-selling jersey by a draft pick. Her jersey was sold out in no time with fans of all ages wanting to sport Clark's pro uniform. Now with her debut here, all those fans that spent so much on the rookie's jersey can wear it with purpose. Wear it to work! Wear it to church! Wear it to a fancy dinner! Today is the day to do it!

The WNBA is getting more attention than the MLB

The MLB is currently mid-season with a lot of things happening. Injuries, big games, rivalries, big plays, but who cares, Caitlin Clark plays today. Who wants to watch Shohei Ohtani hit bombs when you can watch Caitlin Clark sink three over some of the best female athletes in the country?

The Indiana Pacers are in the NBA Playoffs and the Fever are getting more media attention

The Indiana Pacers, the other professional basketball team in Indianapolis are currently playing in the second round of the NBA Playoffs against the New York Knicks, and the series is tied 2-2, but who cares? Caitlin Clark is about to take the Indiana Fever to the WNBA Playoffs and it all starts tonight. How can we say we saw it from the beginning if we watch the Pacers over the Fever tonight? Caitlin Clark above all else.

We don't have to hear Gregg Doyel ask any dumb questions

We all remember the awkward interaction between Clark and Indiana Star reporter Gregg Doyel at her introductory press conference. Well, we won't have to worry about having any more of those because Doyel has been banned from going to any Fever games or even directly working on any stories involving Clark. So don't worry Fever fans, Iowa fans, Caitlin Clark fans, no awkwardness here.

Tonight is the night and it is guaranteed Clark is ready, so make dinner, find a seat on your couch and tune into ESPN at 7:30 p.m. ET to watch Clark make her official debut for the Indiana Fever.
