Caitlin Clark's WNBA career is about to officially start.

Fans of Clark have already gotten to see the former Iowa Hawkeye legend in preseason action over the past few weeks. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft had a strong showing in two preseason games, totaling 33 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

The WNBA is counting on Clark to boost ratings for the league to previously unseen heights. Even though the regular season hasn't quite started yet, Clark has already shown she'll be able to deliver.

More than 13,000 people were in attendance for Clark's first home game with the Fever. Thirteen thousand people for a preseason game in the WNBA is unheard of. In Clark's preseason debut against the Dallas Wings, 6,000 were in attendance, reportedly 1,500 more than the Wings' average attendance during the regular season last year.

But now the regular season approaches and all eyes will be on Clark to not only perform, but carry the league to milestone tv ratings.

That all begins on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT against the Connecticut Sun. The game will air on ESPN 2, ESPN+ and, in a first for the platform, Disney+.

Tickets for those looking to attend are far from cheap. According to On3, the average price is in the $300 range. The Sun averaged roughly 6,200 in attendance in 2023.

Connecticut is led by Alyssa Thomas, the 2023 WNBA MVP runner up. The Sun are coming off a 27-13 season that ended in the second round of the playoffs against the New York Liberty. The Sun have reached the WNBA Finals twice in the past five seasons, so it should be quite the challenge for Clark and a young Fever team to begin the season.
