The Iowa and Minnesota game opened up with the Hawkeyes being the slim favorite over the Golden Gophers. Iowa is still the slim favorite making this game one to watch in the Big Ten.

Both Iowa and Minnesota come into this game 2-1, as both teams lost to other power conference teams. Minnesota lost a close one to UNC at the beginning of the season, which is looking more and more like not that big of a win. Iowa lost a close one to in-state rival Iowa State after the offense couldn't find the end zone and the defense folded in the second half.

After a questionable call in last season's matchup, this is a game the Hawkeyes are going to want revenge in. Iowa's defense will need to have a bit of a comeback game against Minnesota after giving up 21 points to Troy in Week 3.

Of course, the Iowa offense is still finding its footing, even three weeks into the season. Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara needs to utilize his wide receivers more, along with his stellar tight Luke Lachey, in order to get the offense on the same level as running back Kaleb Johnson, who has over 400 yards rushing and six touchdowns.

Iowa vs. Minnesota final prediction

This is going to be a close one, especially with the game being at Minnesota this season. Both of these teams are fairly evenly matched, especially if the Hawkeyes defense starts to look like their usual selves again. This is a game that will bring a lot of emotions, especially with how last season's matchup ended.

I think this game will come down to whoever's defense can score. If the Hawkeyes can get at least one defensive touchdown, that will end up being the difference in the game. Both offenses are and have been struggling and defense will be the name of the game in the end.
