It is officially football week at the University of Iowa as fall camp kicks off this week. That is right, this is the official start of college football coming back in less than a month. The Hawkeyes offense will be under a microscope by fans this season hoping they can get more than what was given to them last season.

The big question on the offense for the Hawkeyes is the quarterback position. It seems as though transfer Cade McNamara is set to take the starting position but the next man up is another quarterback transfer Brendan Sullivan who transferred from fellow Big Ten school Northwestern.

McNamara could bring back the magic he had back in his first year at Michigan, but Sullivan is sitting behind him with solid experience and could easily take over the starting position if McNamara doesn't perform.

Fran McCaffery's sons both commit to Butler

Iowa men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery won't be coaching his boys next year as one son transferred and committed to Butler while his other son also committed to Butler.

McCaffery's son Patrick McCaffery chose to enter the transfer portal after five seasons with the Hawkeyes and found a home at Butler. McCaffery's other son, Jack McCaffery who is going into his senior year of high school in 2024 also committed to Butler as a part of their 2025 recruitment class. Jack apparently did not get an offer from Iowa, but his top choices were Butler, Virginia Tech, adn Wake Forest.

Jack did talk about Patrick's decision helped aid in his own decision. Even though the brothers won't play together unless Jack reclassifies to the 2024 class or Patrick gets a seventh year of eligibility, Jack said his brother liked the school and he wants to follow in his footsteps.
