Iowa has been actively pursuing prospects who are under the radar at this stage in the recruitment process.

The secondary and the offensive line have been the focal points of the program lately, and the program has locked up multiple talented players for the 2027 recruiting class.

Now with an eye on the more distant future, Phil Parker and the defense are eying an intriguing prospect who lit up the film during his sophomore season in 2025.

Safety Jackson Parker added an offer from Iowa after a recent visit

The program has hosted multiple talented prospcts during spring practices already, and one intriguing prospect looks like the real deal as a potential future star in the secondary.

Jackson Parker, a safety/wide receiver prospect in the 2028 class from Olathe, Kansas, recently visited Iowa City during a spring practice and added an offer from Iowa shortly after.

Parker has the size (six-foot-four, 185 pounds) and skill that Iowa traditionally looks for at the safety position, and he showcased his ability to hunt the ball in the air and help in the run game as well.

He showed his ability to hunt the ball in the air and was also extremely adept at getting downhill into the box to help stop the run, a key ability in Phil Parker's defense.

He still has a few years to develop, but Phil Parker and the program are already impressed with what he brings to the table, and they aren't the only ones.

Heading into his junior season, Jackson has already received six offers, including from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State, and that number will skyrocket if he continues to develop.
