The Iowa offensive line has traditionally been a strength under Kirk Ferentz, and that was showcased last season.
The offensive line unit paved the way for the Hawkeye offense to rush for 176.9 yards per game (No. 42 overall), including rushing for 200-plus yards in five games last season.
Three key pieces of the unit, including Logan Jones, Gennings Dunker, and Beau Stephens, were all drafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, with Kade Pieper and Trevor Lauck as the only returning starters.
Everyone is hyped about what Kade Pieper can do, but let's not forget about Trevor Lauck, who started at left tackle for all 13 games for the Hawkeyes last season.
Lauck has the potential to be one of the first OT taken in next year's draft
In one season as a starter for the Hawkeyes, Lauck was an ironman, starting all 13 games, and he earned All-Big Ten Third-Team (coaches) and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention (media) selections in 2025.
Lauck apparently did enough in one year as a starter to impress Pro Football Focus enough to the point they are naming him as one of the top six offensive tackle prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft.

PFF College has ranked Lauck as the No. 6 OT prospect and the No. 31 overall prospect ahead of the 2026 college football season and before the 2027 NFL Draft.
As a junior next season, there is no guarantee that Lauck will forgo his final year with Iowa to head to the NFL, but if he does, PFF College projects him as one of the top tackle prospects.
Lauck has the size (six-foot-five, 310 pounds) to be successful in the NFL, and even if he doesn't declare after next season, he should still be one of the top tackles in the 2028 NFL Draft.
