While the deadline for most players to enter their name into the transfer portal has passed, that has not stopped Iowa from remaining vigilant for talented players.

The Hawkeyes have already secured commitments from 13 players via the portal, but are not stopping there.

Iowa is still keeping tabs on players who entered their names before the midnight deadline on January 16, and is reportedly hosting a former Ohio State Buckeye defensive back.

Cody Haddad is reportedly visiting the Iowa program

The Hawkeyes have been active in the portal and are continuing to meet with transfer players who potentially fit their system.

According to ESPN's Max Olson, former Ohio State Buckeye Cody Haddad is expected to visit the program in the future.

Haddad was ranked as a three-star prospect coming out of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and initially committed to the Wisconsin Badgers in the 2025 recruiting class.

Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes flipped his commitment, but he did not see any game action during his true freshman season in 2025.

Haddad has football in his blood as his dad, Drew Haddad, was a star for the University of Buffalo and played in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts.

Iowa has loaded up on the defensive side of the football during this transfer portal cycle, adding seven players to bolster the defense.

Haddad's potential signing would be purely based on his high school film, because he did not play last season in his only season for the Buckeyes, but he would give the Hawkeyes more depth.

If Haddad does commit to Iowa, he will have three years of eligibility remaining, potentially four if he uses his redshirt.
