Who needs a passing game when you can run the football like the Iowa Hawkeyes?

During last weekend's game against Penn State, the Hawkeyes struggled to get the passing game going because quarterback Mark Gronowski and his receivers were not on the same page.

Luckily for Iowa, the running game was working so well that they did not need the passing game at all.

Running back Kamari Moulton (99 rushing yards) and Gronowski (130 rushing yards, two touchdowns) did a bulk of the damage in the running game as the Hawkeyes squeaked out a 25-24 victory over Penn State.

This weekend, the Hawkeyes welcome the Minnesota Golden Gophers to town as the two programs renew their century-long rivalry.

Gronowski knows the offense faces a tough test against Minnesota's stout front seven, but he provided insight into what the Hawkeyes will look to do to counter it on Saturday.

During a portion of his open media availability this week (posted by "247Sports"), Gronowski discussed their strategy against a stingy Minnesota defense.

Mark acknowledged the passing game struggled last weekend, but he is adamant that they have put in the work in practice this week.

He noted that they did not execute the game plan very well last weekend, but worked on it more this week.

When asked if he was surprised by how much he has used his legs this season, Gronowski stated he was not, but he knows they need to get the passing game going.

He stated that a good way to achieve this is by making some easy, in-rhythm throws and starting fast. Another way to do it will be to get the ball out quickly.

Gronowski praised the offensive line, stating they will give him time, but to help the offense, he wants to get the ball out quickly.

Th Hawkeyes will have their hands full against Minnesota, but if they play the way they know they can, they will leave Kinnick with their fourth conference win.
