Mark Gronowski: take a bow!
Iowa's QB1 made people quickly forget the painful loss to Indiana when he could not finish the game, and showed true grit and toughness in Iowa's 25-24 win over Penn State.
Gronowski noted that he was very disappointed he could not be out there with the guys as they attempted to knock off Indiana on September 27.
He made up for it with his dynamic performance on Saturday.
Gronowski threw for only 68 yards and an interception, but he was dynamic in the run game, torching the Penn State defense on multiple chunk plays.
Overall, Gronowski finished the game with 130 rushing yards and two touchdowns on nine attempts. His 130 yards set a new Iowa program record for rushing yards in a single game by a quarterback.
After the game, fans took to social media to share their appreciation for Gronowski's performance as he guided Iowa to a comeback victory.

With how dynamic Gronowski was in the running game, including a 67-yard run up the middle to set up a touchdown, there were plenty of highlights to choose from.

The outcome was dicey for most of the game, but Gronowski made big plays with his legs time and time again, giving Iowa the victory.

We didn’t pay Mark Gronowski enough, IMO
— Sam (@sammmidd) October 19, 2025
Regardless of how much Iowa paid to get Gronowski from the transfer portal, it was not enough. He continues to show why he is worth the money, and deserves more.
There is no question that Mark is a winner, and Iowa football fans are beginning to see the version of him that we were promised from the beginning.
