Lucy Olsen had a memorable first and only season in Iowa City. The Villanova transfer was unsure about honoring her commitment to the Hawkeyes after legendary head coach Lisa Bluder retired in May 2024. She decided to honor her commitment, and it paid off in a big way for her, and for the program.

Olsen led the Hawkeyes in scoring with 18.0 points per game (fifth in the Big Ten) and assists per game with 4.8 (third in the Big 10). This led to earning a First-Team All-Big Ten selection in her first season with the Hawkeyes.

Olsen is no stranger to winning conference awards. In her three years at Villanova, she earned an all-rookie honoree in her freshman season, a second-team honoree as a sophomore, and a unanimous all-Big East first-team selection as a junior before joining the Hawkeyes.

Olsen joins two other Hawkeye women who earned all-Big Ten awards this season. Junior Hannah Stuelke earned a second-team honor after she averaged 13.0 points per game, and a team-leading 7.9 rebounds per game. Senior Sydney Affolter earned an honorable mention.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will travel to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Tournament, beginning on March 5. The 11-seed Hawkeyes will take on the 14-seed Wisconsin Badgers in a rematch of the final regular season game.

Iowa won the previous contest 81-66 and has won 30 straight games against the Badgers.
