After the Washington Mystics drafted her with the No. 23 overall pick, former Hawkeye star Lucy Olsen is still working to get acclimated to the WNBA.

As a mid-second-round pick, there were no guarantees that Olsen would make the Mystics roster, but she persevered through a tough preseason and made the squad.

At the beginning of the season, Olsen played sparingly but provided a boost to the team when she entered the game.

Heading into the Mystics' game against the Las Vegas Aces on June 26, Olsen was averaging only 7.6 minutes per game. Over the last three, she averaged 26.3 minutes per game, and is making them count.

Olsen entered the game late in the first quarter and made an immediate impact. She knocked down a three-point basket and dished a nice assist to Stefanie Dolson to help the Mystics hold an early 24-16 lead.

The No. 1 Lynx woke up in the second quarter and outscored the Mystics 27-14 to take a 43-38 lead into halftime.

The Lynx pushed the pedal to the floor in the third quarter, notching another 27-point quarter and sealing their victory.

Olsen set a new career high in points with a team-leading 19 and added three assists in 17 minutes off the bench.

Aaliyah Edwards added 15 points and six rebounds in the loss.

The Lynx were led by their superstar and MVP front-runner, Napheesa Collier, who tallied 28 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

The Mystics will look to get back on track in their next game against the Chicago Sky on July 8 at 10:30 a.m. Central Time.
