The Indiana Hoosiers had high expectations coming into this season after a College Football Playoff appearance last season in Head Coach Curt Cignetti's first season.
Indiana started the season red-hot, winning all four of their games, and destroying Illinois 63-10 the week before.
Iowa was ready to be a spoiler for Indiana's Playoff aspirations, but ultimately fell short.
After an ominous start to the game that featured a quick Mark Gronowski interception and a subsequent Indiana touchdown, the Hawkeyes settled in.
The defense came to play, holding the high-powered Indiana offense to 10 first-half points.
Iowa's defense also stopped Indiana on multiple fourth-down conversion attempts, led by defensive back Koen Entringer.
Entringer was named a captain before Iowa's first game against Albany, and has been a captain for every game since.
After Iowa's disappointing 20-15 loss to Indiana during their Homecoming game on Saturday, Entringer acted like a captain, taking responsibility for the loss.
During his media availability postgame (posted by "247Sports"), Entringer acknowledged the defense did a lot of good things on Saturday. Still, he stated that he personally could've played better in many moments.
Outside of the two fourth-down stops, Entringer and the entire Iowa defense struggled to make tackles in space and at the point of attack, costing Iowa a chance to get off the field on more occasions.
Entringer stated it all comes down to effort, and the squad must find a way to consistently bring relentless effort for all 60 minutes of a game.
For now, Entringer said it is "back to the drawing board," and they will use the bye week this upcoming weekend to reset and flush their performance against Indiana.
