Fall camp is over and the final preparations for week one are underway!

The Iowa football program wrapped up fall camp feeling healthy and ready to battle UAlbany in week one on Saturday.

Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz spoke to the media at the end of fall camp, stating that everyone is in pretty good health and came into camp in good shape. A few bumps and bruises along the way, but almost everyone is fully healthy.

Ferentz is heading into his 27th year at the helm of the Hawkeyes, and spoke to the media at the end of fall camp.

In a clip posted by "The Hawkeye Report," Ferentz discussed the status of the team and hit on important points before the first game.

Ferentz credits the team for going into camp prepared and in good shape, helping them avoid any significant injuries.

He also compared this year's squad to the 2008 team, a common recurrence this offseason. Ferentz continues making the comparison because there are still multiple developing stories in terms of depth and playing time for the roster.

One aspect that has not changed: Ferentz's faith in the growth and comfort level of projected starting quarterback Mark Gronowski.

Ferentz is adamant that Gronowski continues to grow and become more comfortable in the system. After Gronowski was unable to participate in spring football or practices, the team is becoming more comfortable with him as well.

Ferentz praised Gronowski and projected backup Hank Brown, stating they have been doing well at camp. He also noted that the quarterback group as a whole has been impressive and is ahead of where he anticipated they would be.

Near the conclusion of his media availability, Ferentz was asked if he would ever consider bringing in more analysts or coaches to help during the season.

Ferentz noted that they are happy with the staff they have now, and in terms of a college football program, they are on the lighter side of staffing, but that is the way he wants it.

He wants more consistency in the message, and that means fewer voices.

Ferentz's message was clear: he believes the team is ready for week one, and the squad has worked hard and prepared to the best of their abilities during the offseason.
