The Iowa program is experiencing some atypical turnover at the running backs coach position after Ladell Betts left for the New York Giants.
After four seasons with the program, Betts went to New York to take a similar job within the Giants organization, and he has since joined the Miami Dolphins organization in a similar capacity.
After Betts head to New York, he was replaced by Omar Young, who has extensive college and NFL coaching experience.
Despite having success with the Hawkeyes last season, the NFL came calling once again, and Young is headed back to the professional ranks.
Omar Young is heading to the Las Vegas Raiders in a similar capacity
Before joining the Iowa program ahead of the 2025 season, Young had extensive experience working in college football in multiple capacities.
Following a successful year with the Hawkeyes, he is making the jump back to the NFL.

According to CBS Sports senior NFL reporter Matt Zenitz, the Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly hiring Young as their next running backs coach under new head coach Klint Kubiak.
Last season under Young's tutelage, the Iowa running backs combined for 2,300 yards and 4.8 yards per carry.
The running backs group was led by sophomore Kamari Moulton, who compiled 878 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns last season.
One of the main reasons the Raiders reportedly hired Young is that Iowa runs a lot of zone-run schemes, similar to what Kubiak runs.
The organization also wanted a proven coach to guide Ashton Jeanty, their first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Kirk Ferentz and the porgram will have to move quickly to replace Young with spring practices just around the corner.
