Kaleb Johnson was a star in his junior season at Iowa. He was a workhorse running back who was the only reason Iowa had a shred of offense during the 2024 season. He was a consensus All-American, rushing for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns.

After just one year of being the starting running back, Johnson declared for the NFL Draft, and he has scouts drooling over what he could become. He will look to showcase that ability on day three of the NFL Combine.

Johnson will look to prove himself in one of the deeper groups of this year's upcoming draft. Johnson has cemented himself as one of the top running backs of the class and has been climbing up draft boards.

In pre-combine draft rankings, Johnson sits between the third to the fifth running back taken. He is aiming to showcase his speed and athleticism during his on-field workouts and measurements.

Johnson is a powerful runner who has great vision for a bigger back. He gets knocked for not running more people over at his size, but he prefers to be more decisive with his movements. He is a capable pass catcher, and he noted it is one of the more underrated aspects of his game.

This running backs class is deep, headlined by Boise State standout Ashton Jeanty. There are potential starters at the running back position across the board, so Johnson will need a good combine to showcase his abilities.

During his media interviews, Johnson said he is only worried about going out at the Combine, doing his thing, and letting the results speak for themselves. He will need to showcase his speed and athleticism as he attempts to supplant Ashton Jeanty as the top running back in the class.
