What better way to give long-time Head Coach Kirk Ferentz win No. 206 with the program than a dominating 47-7 win?

Albeit against a much weaker opponent, Iowa came out hot to begin the game, scoring a touchdown on its first drive two minutes into the game.

Mark Gronowski found Seth Anderson on a 20-yard strike down the middle of the field, shortly after a 45-yard pass to a wide-open Sam Phillips on the sideline.

Gronowski would find Anderson again for another passing touchdown in the quarter, and the Hawkeyes would not look back.

The Hawkeyes put a 20-piece on the UMass defense in the first quarter and cruised to a 47-7 victory.

A significant factor in Iowa's success on Saturday was receiver/return specialist Kaden Wetjen. Wetjen rushed for a 20-yard touchdown and returned a punt for a 95-yard touchdown.

He became the only Iowa player in the program's history to rush for a touchdown and return a punt for a touchdown in the same game.

Wetjen was adamant that he and the team would respond after the loss to Iowa State, and they did just that.

During his postgame interview, which was posted by "The Hawkeye Report," Wetjen addressed the team's success and how they were able to bounce back.

Wetjen acknowledged his poor performance after the loss to Iowa State, especially in the return game, and stated he solved the issue by getting back to basics.

He made it a point to field everything in practice, regardless of how bad the punt was, and it showed up on his 95-yard punt return touchdown on Saturday.

Wetjen showed off his versatility by also rushing for a touchdown, stating he told the coaches he would "do whatever."

His big takeaway from Saturday's game was that all cylinders were firing and everyone got back to doing their jobs.
