Jan Jensen and her staff aren't messing around on the recruiting trail for the 2027 class.
It is still very early in the recruiting process for the 2027 class, and Iowa has only offered three players, all of whom are ranked as the top prospects in their states.
Last weekend, Iowa assistant coach Lasondra Barrett made a trip out to California to watch 2026 Iowa commit McKenna Woliczko in action, but also to scout Kaleena Smith, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class
The Hawkeyes offered Smith last summer.
Smith, alongside fellow 2027 prospects Nation Williams (No. 1 Nevada prospect) and Sydney Mobley (No. 1 Ohio prospect), received offers from the Iowa program.
No one has committed to the Hawkeyes in the 2027 class, but that has not stopped Jensen and the program from continuing to pursue top talent.
The Hawkeyes got some great news recently from the class after Minnesota's No. 1 overall prospect locked in an unofficial visit to Iowa City.

According to 247Sports' Dushawn London, Mya Wilson, a Hill-Murray High School product and member of the All Iowa Attack AAU team, has locked in an unofficial visit to Iowa City on January 18.
Rivals has ranked Wilson as a four-star prospect, Minnesota's No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 4 combo guard prospect, and the No. 44 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
Wilson is a similar size (six-foot-one) and has a similar skill set to 2026 Iowa commit McKenna Woliczko, and would give Iowa a dynamic scorer at either guard position.
Pairing Woliczko and Wilson would be lethal for the Hawkeyes
If the Hawkeye can convince Williams to make the trip south to Iowa, the program would be in great hands for years to come.
Wilson is a knockdown shooter from anywhere on the court and has the ability to set herself up off the dribble as well.
Her size projects more as a forward than a guard, but her smooth handles will play, regardless of what position Jensen puts her at.
If the Hawkeyes can convince Wilson, they will have a new dynamic duo for the foreseeable future.
