Traditionally, the Iowa Football program is talented across the offensive line. Head Coach Kirk Ferentz is an o-line savant and finds hidden gems on the offensive line. Under Ferentz's tutelage, 19 Hawkeye offensive linemen have been drafted by NFL teams.

Iowa has multiple returning players on the offensive line, including starters Beau Stevens (left guard), Gennings Dunker (right tackle), and Logan Jones (center). The trio has a combined 84 career starts.

Jones (No. 71) and Dunker (No. 110) have also been named to the CBS Sports' Top 150 Players List for 2025.

The Hawkeyes also picked up a huge transfer from the transfer portal, adding three-star transfer Bryce George to the squad for next season. With George in the mix for a starting position, here is how the Hawkeyes' depth chart could look ahead of the 2025-2026 season.

Left tackle - Jack Dotzler (junior)

Jack Dotzler is a six-foot-six, 305-pound outside lineman from Waunakee, Wisconsin. Dotzler arrived in Iowa City in 2022, but redshirted his freshman season. During his first full season (2023), Dotzler saw his first game action in a week three contest against Western Michigan.

Dotzler was part of the group that guided the Hawkeyes to 254 rushing yards (most since 2019) in the 41-10 win. He saw more game action in 2024, appearing in four games for the Hawkeyes.

After starting left tackle Mason Richman graduated and entered the NFL Draft, Dotzler will slide into the starting role. Sophomore Trevor Lauck will be his primary backup.

Left guard - Beau Stevens (senior)

Returning senior Beau Stevens will be an anchor for the Iowa offensive line in 2025. Stevens had his best year in 2024-2025 and was named Iowa's Comeback Player of the Year. He was also part of the offensive line group that finished as semifinalists for the Joe Moore Award.

The Joe Moore Award is given to the best offensive line unit in the country.

Stevens made his 21st career start in 2024, and helped pave the way for a Hawkeyes' rushing attack that averaged 197.2 rushing yards per game. The 197.2 yards per game ranked 24th in the nation.

Stevens' size (six-foot-six, 322 pounds) and experience are important to the success of the Hawkeyes' running game in 2025.

Center - Logan Jones (graduate)

After questions surrounded his future with the program, Logan Jones is returning as a graduate player for the 2025-2026 season. Jones is one of Iowa's most experienced offensive lineman, tallying close to 40 career starts.

Jones has been the starting center for the Hawkeyes since the 2022 season, when he started all 13 games at center.

In 2023, Jones was named a Third Team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches after starting 13 games for the Hawkeyes. He was also named an All-American Honorable Mention and First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2024.

After Jones returned, the Hawkeyes retained their anchor in the center of the line and will lean on his experience to guide the offensive line again this season.

Right guard - Bryce George (senior)

Bryce George joins the Hawkeyes this season after entering the transfer portal from Ferris State. George made 41 career starts in three seasons for the Bulldogs and helped guide them to three Division II National Championships.

During his career at Ferris State, the six-foot-five, 315-pound George was named an All-Conference selection two times.

After starting right guard Connor Colby entered the 2025 NFL Draft, Iowa had a huge hole to fill on the right side of the offensive line. George's addition gives the Hawkeyes a big, versatile offensive lineman who can fill that void on the right side.

Sophomore Kade Peiper was penciled in as the starting right guard, but the addition of George bumps him to a backup role.

Right tackle - Gennings Dunker (senior)

Gennings Dunker, the six-foot-five, 316-pound senior from Lena, Illinois, returns for the Hawkeyes at right tackle. Gennings brings his leadership and experience (along with a GREAT mustache) to an Iowa offensive line group that excelled last season.

The 2024-2025 Iowa offensive line was a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line unit in the nation.

After redshirting during the 2021 season, Dunker made his first career start in 2022 during the 21-0 win in the Music City Bowl. He has been a starter on the offensive line since 2023.

In 2023, he started all 13 games at right tackle and was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention. In 2024, Dunker had his best season en route to being a Second Team All-Big Ten selection.

On paper, the Hawkeyes have an extremely talented offensive line and can finish as one of the top units in the nation. The experienced offensive line will attempt to protect new starting quarterback Mark Gronowski in his first season in the Big Ten.
