Nothing like some postseason success to boost your status on the recruiting trail.
Ben McCollum took Iowa from the cellar straight to the top right before our eyes, all thanks to sticking to his guns and recruiting only a certain type of player.
During Iowa's NCAA Tournament run, McCollum was asked how the recent success of the program would impact its perception to prospects and transfers, and he responded with if you're a tough dude, this is a good spot for you.
One prospect apparently got the message, because not long after Iowa's NCAA Tournament exit, a talented 2027 prospect locked in an official visit.
Top 50 forward prospect Donovan Davis scheudled an official visit to IC
Iowa was extremely fortunate that Bennett Stirtz, Cam Manyawu, Kael Combs, Isaia Howard, Tate Sage, and Tavion Banks followed McCollum to Iowa, but with Stirtz and Banks on the way out, they need more depth.
That depth could come from neighboring Wisconsin, where a top prospect locked in an official visit to Iowa City.

Donovan Davis, a top-five Wisconsin prospect in the 2027 class, scheduled an official visit to Iowa City in April.
Ben McCollum and the Iowa program initially offered Davis last June, and now he is set to visit the program.
Davis, a six-foot-seven forward prospect from Kaukauna, Wisconsin, has maintained his status as one of Wisconsin's top prospects during his recruitment, and he is highly ranked ahead of his senior year.
247Sports has currently ranked Davis as a four-star prospect, Wisconsin's No. 2 overall prospect, the No. 7 power forward prospect, and the No. 42 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
Whether it was Iowa's success or the way McCollum described the type of player he recruits, Davis would be a great way for the program to get a head start in the 2027 class.
