Offensive line coach George Barnett has been a godsend for the Iowa program since he joined in March 2021.
During his tenure in Iowa City, stellar offensive line play under the guidance of Barnett has paved the way for the program to win 45 games, an average of nine wins per season. Iowa has also qualified for a bowl game in all five seasons with Barnett as the OL coach.
In his first season in charge, Barnett helped star offensive lineman Tyler Linderbaum earn consensus All-American status, and it has been smooth sailing ever since
After the 2025 offensive line unit earned the Joe Moore Award, talented prospects are taking notice, especially offensive linemen.
Nebraska's No. 1 2028 prospect could be headed to the Hawkeye state
If you want to be a part of one of the top offensive line units year after year, there is no better place than Iowa City.
Kirk Ferentz, George Barnett, and the Iowa Football program are masters at developing offensive linemen, and they are trying to keep that trend going by offering the top Nebraska recruit in the 2028 recruiting class.

2028 Interior offensive lineman Justin Parish Jr. has announced that he received an offer from the Iowa program.
Parish Jr. currently plays for Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and is the top-ranked Nebraska prospect in the class.
According to Rivals, Parish Jr. is a three-star prospect, Nebraska's No. 1 overall prospect, and the No. 41 interior offensive lineman prospect in the 2028 recruiting class. Their composite ranking also ranked him as the No. 578 overall prospect in the class.
Parish showcased his size and strength last season for Westside, hurling defenders out of the box and creating huge holes for the offense. He moves quickly for his size and can play anywhere on the offensive line.
Parish Jr. would be a solid addition for the Iowa offensive line, but they will have to beat out multiple programs to bring him to Iowa City.
