Iowa's recruiting strategy has become clear after an uptick in offers going to prospects in the 2028 class, with multiple given to offensive players.
Kirk Ferentz and company still don't have a committed prospect in the class, but it definitely isn't for lack of trying. Over the past week, the Hawkeyes have stayed active, extending multiple offers to 2028 prospects, with three going to offensive players.
Nothing has hit yet, but the focus has become clear: the program is looking to add offensive talent to the roster in a few years. Two four-star prospects, including WR/DB Logan Thompson and OT Cannon Zubeck, received offers, and now the Hawkeyes are swinging for the fences once again by jumping into the mix for another four-star wide receiver prospect.
WR prospect Ryan Richmond-McDavis added an offer from the Hawkeyes
Having a lot of team speed on the outside is never a bad thing, and after offering speedster Logan Thompson earlier this week, the program is sticking to that idea by offering Ryan Richmond-McDavis.

Richmond-McDavis has elite speed, and showcased it for Cardinal Ritter College Prep last season.
He showed great speed and athleticism, often just blowing by defenders, but he also showcased good ball instincts on poor passes. He excels in space where he can use his elite speed and shiftiness to make defenders miss, and he was often used on screens to take advantage of that.
Iowa's move to add Richmond-McDavis shows they are moving away from purely possession receivers and towards athletes who can break away in space and be game-breakers with their elite speed.
We still do not have any clue who will lineup under center for the Iowa offense next season, but it is smart to add playmakers at multiple positions to make the offense quarterback-proof.
Richmond-McDavis can do that with his speed an athleticism, and hopefully the Hawkeyes did some good early work to entice him to move north to the Hawkeye state in a few years.
247Sports currently ranks Richmond-McDavis as a four-star prospect, Missouri's No. 3 overall prospect, the No. 28 wide receiver prospect, and the No. 188 overall prospect in the 2028 recruiting class.
