After a slow start to the season, the Hawkeyes are starting to click in all facets of the game.
The offense and special teams units continue to improve every week, led by the improvement of starting quarterback Mark Gronowski and the dynamic kick returns of wide receiver Kaden Wetjen.
The Iowa offense was anemic during the first two weeks, as Gronowski was setting records that no quarterback wanted to set.
Over the past few games, the Iowa offense has been explosive, and propped the defense up after they struggled in the first half of the last game against Rutgers.
As Gronowski grows in confidence, the offensive unit around him grows in confidence, and it has shown on the field.
While Iowa's offensive rankings may not stand out, the cohesion between the players is growing each week.
After a subpar first half last weekend for the Iowa defense, they held Rutgers to only seven second-half points and remain ranked in the top 25 in college football in rushing defense (No. 7), scoring defense (No. 24), and total defense (No. 13).
After Iowa's win over Rutgers, they jumped into the top ten of the Big Ten Conference power rankings in one version of the rankings.

"Fox College Football" placed Iowa at No. 10 in their weekly conference rankings after their win against Rutgers last Friday night.
Iowa has the chance to make a significant jump in the rankings as they welcome No. 11 Indiana to kinnick Stadium this Saturday.
Indiana looks like a juggernaut to this point in the season, and the Hawkeyes will have to play a perfect game to upset the Hoosiers in Iowa City this weekend.
