A balanced offensive attack guided the Iowa Hawkeyes Women's Basketball team to a dominating 92-57 round-one win in the NCAA Tournament. Twelve of Iowa's 13 players scored a basket in the victory.
Iowa dominated in the paint and forced Murray State into tough, contested shots on the other end. The Hawkeyes shut down Murray State's high-powered offense and held them to under 40 percent shooting from the field and under 20 percent from three-point range.
The Hawkeyes could not be happier after their first NCAA Tournament win in the post-Caitlin Clark era.

The Hawkeyes got great performances across the roster. Senior leaders Sydney Affolter and Lucy Olsen played crucial roles, but the freshman showed out in the win.
Ava Heiden had 15 points to lead the Hawkeyes in scoring, and Taylor Stremlow had the first double-digit scoring game of her career with 10 points. The freshmen were fabulous!
Way to go Hawks! Keep it rolling! π€π
