Iowa Baseball entered Saturday with the second-best record in the Big Ten. The Hawkeyes are hot, winning eight of the last 10 games. After dropping the previous conference game to Northwestern, Iowa attempted to get back on track in a three-game weekend series against Nebraska.

In game one on Friday night, junior Cade Obermuller pitched another gem. Obermueller struck out 11 and gave up only two hits and two walks in seven innings. Anthony Watts entered in the eighth inning and got the save in the 1-0 victory.

Iowa scored their only run in the second inning on a 424-foot moonshot by Kooper Schulte.

The Hawkeyes and Cornhuskers looked to get their offenses going in game two.

The Cornhuskers jumped all over Aaron Savary in game two. Savary surrendered five runs on five hits in five innings. After going down 5-2 by the fifth inning, the Hawkeyes needed their rally caps to attempt a late-inning comeback.

After smashing a two-run home run, junior outfielder Miles Risley brought the Hawkeyes within one run (5-4). The Hawkeyes would trail 5-4 until the eighth inning. The Hawkeyes' offense EXPLODED for six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Senior Ben Wilmes started the comeback with a leadoff home run. After two walks and a bunt single, the bases were loaded. A sacrifice fly and a single scored three more runs. The comeback was fully complete after an Andy Nelson three-run homer.

The Hawkeyes move to 23-10 (14-3 Big Ten) on the season and re-take first place in the Big Ten Standings. The Hawkeyes finish the series against the Huskers on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Central Time.
