After a much-needed bye week, Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz said it was nice to reset and get some time to watch high school football while scouting future prospects.
Following the bye week during week six of the college football season, the Hawkeyes hit the road to take on rival Wisconsin for the annual battle for the Heartland Trophy.
After a strange unsportsmanlike penalty was assessed to a Wisconsin player for trying to interfere with the "swarm" of Iowa players entering the field, the Hawkeyes dominated from start to finish.
From the start, the Iowa defense and rushing attack blew away the Badgers as Iowa cruised to a 37-0 victory to return the Heartland Trophy to Iowa City for the fourth consecutive year.
The Iowa rushing attack, led by Kamari Moulton (96 rushing yards, one touchdown), was dominant all game, racking up a total of 210 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
The dynamic freshmen duo of Xavier Williams (55 rushing yards, two touchdowns) and Nathan McNeil (40 rushing yards) also had solid efforts. They showcased why the Hawkeyes will have a dynamic rushing attack for years to come.
The program is attempting to maintain the depth in the running back room after offering a standout athlete in the 2028 recruiting class.
After a great conversation with @CoachSWallace I am blessed to receive and offer from the University of Iowa!
