The Hawkeye Football program continues its search for future talent for its recruiting classes. Over the weekend, the program offered four prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.
As the offseason progresses, Head Coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff have stayed aggressive in pursuing talented prospects to add to the roster. Ferentz prefers to build from within, starting with talented prospects the program recruits.
With the newly created "Flight Funds" program, which is in response to future revenue-sharing programs, Iowa Football hopes to continue to attract and retain top talent in the new era of college athletics.
After revenue-sharing begins on July 1, the landscape of college football will drastically change, but Ferentz and his staff will not change their recruiting philosophy. They continue searching for under-the-radar prospects and turning them into All-Big Ten performers.
Over the weekend, the Hawkeyes made a late offer to add a three-star prospect to the 2026 recruiting class.

Jonathan Rulo, a six-foot-two, 285-pound defensive lineman prospect from Belleville, Illinois, announced he received an offer from Iowa Football.
247 Sports ranked Rulo as a three-star prospect and Illinois' No. 37 (No. 145 defensive lineman) in the 2026 class. He received an offer following a visit to Iowa City over the weekend.
MaxPreps named Rulo a 2024 Player of the Year recipient following his stellar season on both sides of the football. He played nose tackle, guard, and defensive line for the Crusaders last season.
Iowa defensive line coach Kelvin Bell was named as Rulo's primary recruiter, suggesting the Hawkeyes are recruiting him to play on the defensive line.
