Iowa forward Hannah Stuelke has had a bust summer after suiting up for Team USA during the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup in Santiago, Chile.

Iowa Head Coach Jan Jensen noted that Stuelke was initially nervous about trying out for the squad, but she encouraged her to get out of her comfort zone.

Stuelke decided to try out for the squad, and was one of the players chosen to represent the United States. Her call-up was the first one she received from Team USA.

After excelling as a reserve for Team USA as the won the gold medal, Stuelke returned to Iowa City and rejoined the Iowa program.

Following a July 22 practice, Stuelke spoke to reporters during open media availability.

In a portion of her availability posted by Iowa's News Now, Stuelke discussed her time with Team USA and how she feels heading into her senior season.

Stuelke mentioned she did feel nervous heading into the tryout, but Jensen "forced" her to go, stating it was a good opportunity to get out of her comfort zone.

She mentioned that it ultimately was a good decision and helped her learn multiple things from her new teammates and coaches.

After returning to Iowa City, Hannah noted her defense improve drastically while she was in Chile, and she did what she needed to do.

Now that she is back in the fold, she mentioned that Jensen wants her to communicate more, and be a more vocal leader. Jensen also wants her to lead by example for the younger players.

Stuelke stated that she feels good this summer as opposed to last summer, and said it was nice to be in the gym more often.

If Hannah can continue to improve her shooting and passing abilities from the forward position, the Hawkeyes are going to be dangerous next year.
